We are looking for an experienced agency Commercial Director to head up Deeson’s new business, commercial partnerships and client account growth. This new hands-on role will work closely with the Managing Director and other leadership team members to drive agency growth, building on the agency’s strong brand and reputation for high quality digital work.

Deeson delivers transformational digital work across a wide variety of sectors - and you’ll be a vital part of helping us build on our strong reputation and develop our business further. You’ll help clients develop valuable new projects through a consultative and engaging approach to business development.

Our diverse client portfolio includes broadcaster ITV, top UK museums such as Imperial War Museums and Royal Museums Greenwich, public sector clients like the National Crime Agency and Food Standards Agency, not-for-profits including the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and London Zoo, cultural venues such as the Southbank Centre, and the British Film Institute, the University of Derby and Middlesex University in the higher education sector as well as national brewer Shepherd Neame.

If you can inspire and excite potential new clients, have a passion for digital transformation, and have the communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Deeson teams then this could be a great role for you. You’ll get to work closely with highly talented digital practitioners and take your career and leadership to the next level in a supportive, challenging and high potential agency environment.

Deeson is part of The Panoply - a group of companies that work collaboratively with clients to solve complex business problems. Our sister agencies include Manifesto, Notbinary and FutureGov.

The role is based in our busy London office and will involve some travel to events and potential client sites elsewhere in the UK.

Who we're looking for:

  • You’ll have five or more years commercial experience developing digital transformation and web platform opportunities with director-level clients, with a track record of delivering new client wins and existing account growth.
  • Proven experience in new business in a digital consultancy context and managing relationships with key senior clients.
  • You’re self-motivated with the drive to achieve key performance indicators in the new business process. You’ll be able to work independently but also collaborate effectively with team members when that’s needed.
  • You have strong experience of writing high quality long-form proposals and bids. You’ll also be confident preparing impactful pitch presentations and leading pitches as part of an agency pitch team.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to help you identify core client issues, work out internal buying processes and secure “buy-in” and support from the right decision makers in potential client organisations.
  • Understanding of digital agency market trends, research methods and analysis.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills, partnered with commercial awareness and a strategic mindset.
  • Nice to have: solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Nice to have: solid network across a variety of key sectors.

  • Understanding of digital agency market trends, research methods and analysis
